Position Overview
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for driving admissions growth, maximizing sales conversion, leading and developing the business development team, and ensuring achievement of organizational revenue targets. The role requires ownership of lead management, sales operations, performance management, team coaching, strategic planning, stakeholder coordination, and continuous process improvement to enhance overall business performance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Performance & Admissions Management
Drive achievement of admission and revenue targets through effective sales planning and execution.
Monitor lead allocation, lead movement, and pipeline progression across the team.
Track and improve team conversion ratios from lead to admission.
Review daily sales performance and admission metrics.
2. Team Leadership & People Management
Lead, motivate, and manage the Business Development team to achieve organizational goals.
Provide regular coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
3. Training, Coaching & Capability Development
Enhance team capability through continuous learning initiatives.
4. Business Strategy & Process Improvement
Analyze sales funnel performance and identify business growth opportunities.
Conduct market and competitor analysis.
Provide structured feedback to marketing teams regarding lead quality and campaign effectiveness.
Recommend improvements in CRM workflows and sales processes.
Identify automation opportunities to improve productivity.
Develop conversion improvement strategies based on performance insights.
5. Reporting & Governance
Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly business performance reports to the Board.
Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Management, or related field.
MBA preferred.
Experience
5–8+ years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Admissions, or Revenue Operations.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience managing sales/admissions teams.
Experience in EdTech, Higher Education, Training, or Service Industry preferred.
