MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER
You'll own the mechanical design and development of our client's next-generation wearable products, taking ideas from concept through production. This is not just a CAD role. You'll solve complex engineering problems, make critical design trade-offs, collaborate across hardware disciplines, and ensure products are reliable, manufacturable, and ready for scale.
What you'll work on
Own the end-to-end mechanical design of wearable and consumer hardware products from concept through mass production
Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation
Design components and assemblies using processes such as injection molding, sheet metal, CNC machining, die casting, and elastomers
Perform tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T implementation, and design validation to ensure robust product performance
Drive prototype builds using rapid prototyping methods and iterate designs based on test results
Collaborate closely with electrical, firmware, industrial design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams throughout product development
Support EVT, DVT, PVT, and production builds while resolving mechanical issues and design challenges
Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design for Cost (DFC) reviews
Work directly with suppliers, tooling vendors, and manufacturing partners to optimize quality, yield, and cost
Analyze failures, conduct root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions to improve product reliability
Drive continuous improvement initiatives for product performance, manufacturability, and user experience
What We're Looking For
Experience designing consumer electronics, wearables, loT devices, medical devices, or other high-volume products
Knowledge of sealing, adhesives, thermal management, and environmental protection design
Experience working with contract manufacturers, ODMs, and global suppliers
Familiarity with reliability testing, failure analysis, and quality engineering principles
Exposure to electromechanical systems and compact product architectures
