Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced OPA (Open Policy Agent) Developer to design, develop, and implement enterprise authorization solutions using Open Policy Agent (OPA). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with end-to-end OPA implementations, Rego policy development, OPA SDK integrations, and authorization modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
● Design, develop, and implement policy-based authorization solutions using Open Policy Agent (OPA).
● Develop and integrate OPA SDKs with enterprise applications and services.
● Design, write, test, and troubleshoot complex Rego policies.
● Work with OPA APIs, including:
○ Bundle API
○ Status API
○ Decision Logs API
● Develop automation and synchronization utilities using Python, PowerShell, and Unix Shell scripting.
● Translate legacy authorization models into OPA-compatible JSON structures.
● Support large-scale authorization data migration and modernization initiatives.
● Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using .NET Core.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable authorization solutions.
Required Skills
● 8+ years of software engineering experience (10+ years preferred).
● Hands-on experience working on Open Policy Agent (OPA) projects.
● Must have completed at least one end-to-end OPA implementation.
● Strong experience with OPA SDK development and integrations.
● Strong understanding of OPA architecture, administration, and APIs.
● Expertise in Rego policy development and troubleshooting.
● Experience with:
○ Python
○ PowerShell
○ Unix Shell scripting
● Experience with relational databases and large-scale data migration.
● Experience converting legacy authorization models into OPA-compatible JSON.
● Strong knowledge of:
○ .NET Core
○ REST APIs / Web Services
○ JSON
○ JWT
○ Rego
Preferred Skills
● Experience with Policy-Based Access Control (PBAC) or Relationship-Based Access Control (ReBAC).
● Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
● IAM and authorization modernization experience.
● Experience supporting enterprise security and access control initiatives.
● OPA or cloud certifications.
Education
● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Certifications
● AWS Certified Solutions Architect
● Microsoft Azure Certifications
Hiring Notes
This is a highly specialized OPA role. Candidates with real production experience implementing Open Policy Agent should be prioritized over candidates with only IAM or security experience.
Ideal candidates should have:
● End-to-end OPA implementation experience.
● Strong Rego policy development expertise.
● OPA SDK integration experience.
● Large-scale authorization/data migration experience.
● Strong .NET Core development background.
