1,200 resumes, and a drive date you don't control. a drive date you don't control

Three things that give way at batch size
None of these break on a normal req. All three break in placement week.

Reading turns into skimming
Hour one, you read properly. Hour four, you are scanning for college name and CGPA because it is the only thing you can compare fast. The bottom half of the folder gets a worse look than the top half, and you know it while you are doing it. Then the panel asks why this student and not that one, and you do not have an answer you would defend.
by 4 pm on drive day
The panel runs out of clock before the queue runs out
Four engineering leads gave you one day. Slots are 30 minutes. At 4 pm there are still 28 students outside and you lose the room at 6. You cut the list standing in the corridor, by CGPA, because that is the only thing you can sort on in ten seconds, and one of the twelve you cut signs somewhere else on Thursday.
between the November offer and the June DOJ
The offer letter goes quiet for seven months
You closed the offers and reported the number in December. In May, six of them stop replying. Two send a one-line note about a better CTC somewhere else. The other four simply do not turn up on the joining date, nobody had spoken to any of them since the offer letter, and the ones who dropped were the ones you fought the panel for.
Four phases. Three of them happen before you reach campus, which is the entire point.
the Friday the list lands

drive day, then monthly to the DOJ
Drive day, and the months after it

Four things people ask before their first drive
The placement cell sends one ZIP of 1,200 PDFs and a spreadsheet of names and emails. Does that work?
The ZIP, yes. Drop the folder in, 0.5 credits a resume, every one scored against your JD. The spreadsheet, only partly. A row with a name and an email has nothing in it to score, so those dimensions come back empty instead of guessing at a number. Send those students your apply link, let them attach a resume, and they score like everyone else.
Our drive is on the 14th and the date cannot move. What does this actually change?
Not the date, and not the aptitude test. Recruitkar runs neither. What it changes is who walks into the room on the 14th. Resumes ranked the day the list lands, AI interviews run in the days before, so the panel's one day goes to students who already cleared a round instead of to first-pass filtering.
Can you tell me which students will drop the offer before the joining date?
No. Nothing here scores intent to join, and anyone who says they can predict a renege is selling you something. What it does is end the seven-month silence. The offered column stays a live list you can write to: email is 1 credit per candidate ever, not per message, so a note every month costs the same as one note, and WhatsApp templates are 1 credit each. Be clear about what that email is, though. It is a bulk send with merge fields, not an AI writing each student a different letter. You will still lose some. You will hear it in March, in a reply, instead of on the DOJ.
We hire the same batch for three roles. Do we pay for each student three times?
No. You pay once, when the student first comes in, 0.5 credits for a resume out of the folder. Putting that same person on another of your own jobs is free, and they are re-scored against that job's JD. So the student who is a weak fit for SDE and a strong fit for support gets a fresh verdict, not the old one carried across, and it costs nothing to find that out.
